I found home...
Beau
1 year old, male, smoke colour cat
Beau came to Sunny Harbour after one of our volunteers discovered he was being repeatedly sold in the free ads. At only 10months of age he was already on home number five and in a bid to save him for another five homes he found his way to Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue where we have brought this shy and rather unsure little baby boy to a place where he has found his own character, likes and dislikes and has proven himself to be a very fun loving, cheeky wee rascal who is very affectionate, intelligent and very much seeking his royal slave to play, cuddle and adore him.
Beau is a very unusual colour and this probably added to his appeal to ‘buyers’ as he is an almost grey smoke colour with tinges of red through his soft fluffy coat. Matted and in horrid condition when he arrived he has since been neutered, coat cleaned up and treated for his many ‘friends’ he had on arrival (fleas and worms). Just these few simple things started to make a big difference and as the days to weeks went past Beau has slowly but surely found his inner kitten and started to develop to explore his likes and dislikes.
At his current age he should really be out of his kitten phase however due to his upbringing which has led him to lead a very sheltered, withdrawn existence he is only now exploring and playing as he should have as a youngster and so does need guidance and an experienced companion to help him develop over the next few months as he learns how to be a loved, cherished cat and to offer him guidance and reassurance as he learns about life as it should be.
Beau is a cat who is full of energy and very much enjoys both independent play (self play) and interactive play with his human slaves. A very intelligent cat it is important that any potential pawrents understand the importance of mentally stimulating their companion and Sunny Harbour are more than happy to explain and discuss how this can be achieved through basic toy rotation, variety and options such as puzzle feeders.
Beau is seeking an indoor only home or a home with a secured garden well away from any busy roads. He would need to be a first cat into the home as he currently lacks any social skills for interacting with other cats due to having been removed from his mum and siblings too young. It may be an option to add a 2nd companion cat at a later date however this would be very much dependant upon how Beau develops over his initial 12 to 18mths in his new home.
Beau can get over excited in play and run around not necessarily looking where he is going and collide into people / objects and as a result we wouldn’t place him into a home with very young children or to a home planning on children in the first few years Beau would be with you. Therefore established family homes with children over 10 years old or cat focussed adult only homes would be preferable.
Equally we would prefer homes where Beau will not be left for long periods of time on his own i.e. preferably to either shift, part time workers or home working people so that he has the human companionship and stimulation needed to develop his character. This is also to encompass his need to adjust to a normal home environment, something which he has never experienced before.
In return for opening your heart and home to this wonderful, gorgeous and very intelligent little boy you will receive an abundance of laughs, cuddles and cheeky times and as with all Harbour Babies the more love and understanding you give them the more you will receive in return.

Beau is neutered and up to date with all wormer and flea treatments.
Thank you for visiting Beau's profile. He has now found his forever home and is settling in very well!
Please note that there is a set donation to Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue of £60 on the adoption of each cat or kitten from our care to help towards the cost of caring for all our residents.
