I found home
Henry
3 year old, black and white male cat.
Original Homing Text:
Please note that Henry is not quite ready to leave Sunny Harbour however we would like to find a forever home for him whilst his rehabilitation continues over the coming weeks.
Henry is a wonderful little boy. Petite in size and with the gentlest of natures, not to mention his stunning good looks (yes I am biased) this little fella would make the perfect companion.
Henry came to us around 4 weeks ago after having been found in the streets with some form of head trauma. Following treatment and neutering we were asked to take this little cat with a view to helping rehabilitate him due to being exceptionally shy and timid.
Whilst this was the case it quickly became apparent that this was down to fear. Although who could blame the little soul after being through the wars to come round in a veterinary practice with needles getting stuck in him, neutering and then ending up in a strange place.
That said, within hours of being with us at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue Henry the cat had begun to relax, was eating well and sleeping soundly. Over the next few days he began to relax more and has gradually become more and more confident as time has gone on.
In the last week alone he has made great progress and is happy to be stroked and thoroughly enjoys a good ear rub and must have his obligatory chin rub which he absolutely adores as his little eyes close.
Throughout his ordeal Henry has remained a gentle little soul with never even an ounce of aggression. He is a true little gentleman and I have to admit we are so proud of him and he most definately has a special place in our hearts already.
Henry would make a perfect companion for someone either living on their own or a older couple looking for a little cat to share cuddles with.
Henry is a cat that does need a quiet home and we would be looking to place him in a home with no other cats or dogs and no children.
Initially Henry is a cat that would need to be kept indoors until such times as his confidence had developed and he was completely happy in his surroundings. This may be for 2- 4 months depending on how well Henry adapts to new surroundings.
An indoor only home may be the perfect option for Henry however we will consider both options if the placement is right and provision can be made to keep Henry indoors for the intial period.
Ideally Henry's new family will need to have patience and understanding and allow Henry to take life in his new home at his own pace. Sunny Harbour will assist in this process and provide all advice and support needed.
Update 27/02/09: Henry has now found his forever home and will be leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue shortly to join his new family.
Update 02/03/09: Henry has now left Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue to join his new family where we hope he will be very happy. Signs are positive that he is settling in and we wish you a very happy future in your new home Henry, although you are very much missed here at Sunny Harbour by us all.
Update 04/09: We were thrilled to get the chance to pop in and visit Oor Henry and see how he is doing and of course to sneak a little cuddle or two. How is he doing??? In a word... brilliantly. Although still a ways to go his new family are working wonders with this very special little boy to gain his trust and integrate him into the home.
Well done Henry (now known as Smudge) you thoroughly deserve it kiddo!
