I found home...
Honey
4 - 6 year old, Dark Torti, Female Cat*.
Honey is a beautiful little dark torti / brindle torti girl who after abandonment was left to fend for herself on the streets for the last few years. We learnt of Honey's plight in September 09 and brought her in immediately with her 2 young furkids Sam & Dolly. The latest of umpteen litters she had reared over her time outside.
Sadly life on the streets took its toll on the little ones and Dolly passed peacefully to rainbow bridge and Sam survived but with stunted growth. He now lives happily with his new meowmy.
Honey has at one time known a loving home and over the time we have spent with her since her arrival she clearly shows a craving to be petted and share affection but at the same time is wary of strangers. This however does not stop her head bumping legs and urging you to play with her.
At meal times you will always hear and feel her as she brushes in and out your legs and she loves to follow you around and watch what you are doing.
Play time is great fun with Honey and now that she understands what toys are she loves nothing better than jumping, grabbing and chasing dangler and stick toys. She also very much enjoys battering her little green ball too which regularly ends up in the water bowl!
She is also another of those darling cats that is so very difficult to photograph so we apologise for the lack of any brilliant photography, she simply will not sit or stand still!
Honey so deserves a home to call her own where she can learn what it is to be happy and well cared for not to mention warm and cosy. Ideally Honey needs an indoor / outdoor home where she has the ability to roam outdoors safely (away from any major busy roads) and a home of her own where she is loved, safe and can enjoy attention from her new owners.
Honey is such a comical little cat but will need someone with the patience to allow her to progress at her own speed and allow her to gain trust with her new human family by letting her come to you when she feels comfortable. Honey is not a timid cat by any means, she just has to learn how to trust people again after those in her past treated her as a machine - she wants to love and be loved - she is a cat that just needs someone to give her a chance to thrive, a true cat person!
Honey has made great progress with Paul & I and especially loves her daddy. She is always excited by company and loves to chatter away and tell you all about her day. She will follow you around and watch what you are doing and loves you to chat away to her as you go.
We wouldn't recommend a family with young children for Honey and feel she would be better suited to either a home without children or to a family of true cat people who can understand her caution and need to take life at her own pace. That said, Honey has come SO far in the time she has been with us that there is every chance she will make herself right at home.

Update 10/04/2011: We are delighted to be able to report that after 19 months at Sunny Harbour Honey finally found a wonderful forever home where she is thriving and proving herself to be the wonderful, loving companion we knew she could be.
Thank you for viewing Honey's profile.
