I found home...
7 month old, male ginger tabby cat
Original Adoption Profile:
We are very pleased to finally be able to introduce you all to a cheeky, loving wee soul known as Monty. Monty came to us a few short weeks ago and since his arrival has shown himself to be a very loving, kissy little boy who like most ginger cats knows his own mind!
Monty came to us after his owner was no longer able to care for him and since his arrival has flown through his vet check, neutering and treatment for fleas and a rather heavy worm burden!
Monty is a little boy who has not had much exposure to socialisation, play and normal kitten activities which has become apparent since his arrival at Sunny Harbour. We do know that he is not good with dogs and may be ok with other cats however he lacks any social skills for correct interaction and play and as a result any decision to place him with another cat would be very much dependent upon the potential adopters and nature of the existing cat.
He has however come on in leaps and bounds with his confidence and despite not being keen on being picked up he is very happy to jump up and cuddle on your lap and give you kisses. He is however improving every day with regards to being picked up and handled.
He is slowly but surely learning the concept of toys and has just about got the hang of interactive play toys although still struggles to understand self play which will need to be encouraged by any potential adoptees.
Monty has come on a great deal since his arrival at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue and will continue to blossom in the right home. We are seeking an indoor only home (preferably) for Monty as he has never been outside and can become a little stressed in new busy environments. Alternatively we will consider an indoor / outdoor home with a secure garden well away from any roads or a garden with a run area or quiet rural location.
Monty is not suited to a home with children under 10 years of age and ideally we would be seeking experienced cat owners able to encourage his development with guidance from Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue. This however is not essential providing new owners are open to receiving guidance from Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue on how to continue his development thus ensuring a balanced, happy cat.
Monty is an amazing, beautiful little cat with a fantastic, loving personality who has very quickly bcome a favourite at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue. However, due to a less than ideal start in life he is a little behind in his socialisation and it is this reason alone that we are looking to match certain criteria in any new home and not due to any behavioural issues of note / concern.
Monty has been neutered and will be up to date with wormers, flea treatments and have had at least his first vaccination on leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.
Update June 2011: Monty has now found his wonderful new forever home where he continues to make his pawrents laugh at his antics. He is doing great and thriving in a happy, stimulating environment. Well done wee man!
Thank you for visiting Monty's profile.
