Wilfred

I have great pleasure in finally being able to announce that Wilfred is now available for adoption. Wilfred is a fantastic, loving, cuddly character who just loves cuddles and kisses and would very much like a human to call his own.
 Wilfred has been a huge hit with visitors to the harbour since his arrival around the start of January. We received a call about Wilfred living on the streets during all the very bitter cold weather and snow. It later turned out that he had been there for several years but with no owner and no one to look out for him and give him shelter.
Poor Wilfred was very afraid of us when we first brought him into Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue but with love and understanding we slowly showed him we wouldn't hurt him and just wanted to give him love and safety.
In just a short few days he had turned from this frightened big tom to a big cuddly teddy bear.
 He has the most gorgeous greeny yellow eyes and wide set face from not having been neutered at a young age but this just give you much more to hold onto for Biiiiig cheek rubs which he just loves!
Wilfred is such a joy to care for and whilst with most cats bribery of food or a treat is needed all Wilfred needs is the offer of a cuddle and he's right by your side. I am sure I can speak for everyone when I say that he will be very much missed by all who frequent Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue but if any cat deserves a home to call his own it is Wilfred the cat.
 Wilfred is looking for either a large indoor only home or an indoor / outdoor home (well away from busy roads) with warm cosy places to rest and plenty of love, cuddles and kisses around.
We wouldn't look to place Wilfred in a home with young children but feel he would do better in an adult only home or a home with teenagers.
Wilfred has not shown any sign of upset or aggression towards any of the cats in our care and as proven himself to be a well rounded character who just loves life.

Update 15/04/10: We are very pleased to be able to report that 2nd time lucky for our Wilfy and he is settling in wonderfully to his new home.
Sadly despite our 1st choice being a wonderful home Wilfy did not take to dogs well at all and his first adoptive pawrents has to make the heart breaking decision to bring Wilfred back. But it was for the best and Wilfy now has a wonderful home where he is very much king of his castle and spoilt rotten - just what he deserves!
The other pawrents - well I'm pleased to say that they now have Baby one of our other charges to dote over who is also equally as happy.
We are very sad to report that Wilfred died suddenly on the 29th August 2010. He was one very special Harbour Baby. Play free at the bridge our little soldier!
